Hunting

My son and I have been able to do a little hunting. We haven't had much luck, but we have enjoyed getting outdoors and enjoying God's creation. It always helps us to realize God's creation helps us to remember our status in relation to him. God expresses his love for us in so many ways and everything in his creation points us to him. I am very blessed to have a little boy that continually reminds me of the simple faith required to please God. I wish I could have more of the faith he expresses.

Dry Spell

Unfortunately, I haven't had the opportunity to do any outdoor events. I have been dove hunting a few times, but not for long and unfortunately that is about it. My son and I are having withdrawl symptoms and hope to get outside soon. We have a tadpole pool in our backyard and that is about it. It is a sad replacement for real outdoor adventures, but you have to take what you can get.

Spending Time Outdoors

Whether it is fishing, catching tadpoles with your son, or just sitting and watching a sunset, there is something special about spending time outdoors. The cares of every day life seem much less important when you take time to relax and remember what is truly important in life. I watch my son and how he enjoys just simple things that I many times don't notice. Little things in life are many times the most important things we do and the great outdoors has a way of allowing a person to enjoy things that otherwise would go unnoticed.

Outdoors

My son and I went to a creek and he got to catch a few tadpoles. We had a good time and saw some trees beavers have cut down. He loves getting outdoors and I love spending time with him anywhere, but getting into the great outdoors with him is especially special.

Fishing

I went fishing with my son this morning and although we didn't catch but a couple of small bream, we had a great time spending time with each other and enjoying God's creation. I am going fishing tonight with my brother and hoping to catch a few more fish and enjoy being outdoors.

Davy Crockett State Park

We went on a family outing to Davy Crockett State Park in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee today and had a great time. We went for a relaxing hike in the woods and were fortunate enough to see several deer and turkey. Davy Crockett is a good place to visit if you enjoy the outdoors.

Beach Time

Spending time outdoors takes on a lot of different looks. Most of mine is spent on the rivers and the woods, but this past week we spent time at the beach. Away from the traffic, hotels, and restaurants it is still possible to have some quality outdoor experiences. God's creation is wonderful no matter which part you spend time in.

John Denver Sings About the Outdoors

Enjoying the Outdoors

Getting outside and enjoying the great outdoors can be very relaxing and provides an escape from the hectic pace of many of our lives today. Everyone needs an outlet and enjoying God's creation provides many people with a wonderful escape. One can become closer to his maker while enjoying his wonderful creation. Whether for an afternoon, weekend, or longer, time spent outdoors is time well spent. Hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, canoeing, and other outdoor activities are great ways to spend time with family and become closer to each other. While time spent with family may be hard to come by during these hectic times visiting the great outdoors is a great way to spend quality family time.

Fishing

My brother and I went fishing and had a great time. We caught several bass and my brother lost a 5 pounder, but we had a great time. The temperature cooled down in the evening and we saw an awesome sunset.

Camping

My seven year old son and myself went camping this last weekend and although the temperature was in the upper 90's we had a great time. My son caught tons of little bream and actually caught a shad minnow. I have been fishing my entire life and I have never witnessed anyone catch a fish this small on a hook. We also had a visit from a local racoon during the night, but the food was stored in the truck so it was a short and uneventful visit.
